Happy Birthday Sara

Dear Sara,

My cute little princess, Happy Happy Birthday. Just the thought of you makes my heart explodes with so many emotions. I really wish I could freeze moments with you forever. Precisely why I keep annoying your mom for more pics and videos to the point that she has to share a screenshot of her camera reel. 

It is impossible to explain the joy you have brought to so many lives – it is too big, bright and burly for words. What is it that I love about you? I could go on forever, and the list would be much too long. You’re already making this world a better place and you’re only a wee baby. That’s pretty special. You are pretty special. You make even grumpy people in the grocery store smile and laugh, (even when you want to add every grocery item to the basket.) 

I’ve met you just twice, but watching you learn and explore the world around you, I find myself getting excited about the simple joys in life again. Each day is a whole new adventure for you, and your sparkling eyes have a deep sweetness. You’re charismatic, curious, and loving beyond belief, and hearing you talk melts my heart. 

The love you have for the wind…

The way you gaze at the trees…

How you light up when you see a bird, dog, bee…

Enjoying the little things with you has been the bestest!

Seeing the world through your curiosity lenses, suddenly makes everything even more amazing. 

For the record, you’ve never been a great sleeper. Putting you to bed is a herculean task of its own. You have too much to look at + do for any of that nonsense. 

And have I told you how stunningly beautiful you are? Your Minnie Mouse lashes, gorgeous eyes, pink cheeks, and the most innocent smile, literally have stopped strangers in their tracks. (What a beautiful baby!) Everyone wants to be around you. It’s a pull. And you’ve got it, girl. 

You love everything, pretty much! You love playing with balls, opening and closing things (like books!), climbing, crinkling paper and spilling all the sugar out of containers on the floor, and climbing up the slides. 

My hope is that you will always be like this little girl – a ray of sunshine; friendly to every person you meet, kind to animals and giving of love. There is no one else like you.

I pray that 

• You continue to delight in the world around you. 
• Make new discoveries and have adventures.
• Keep welcoming all people with your smile and your warmth, and 
• Charm the world just as much as it charms you.

You bring more love and happiness to my life than you will ever know! The kind of love and joy that is genuine and pure.  I love you to the moon and back again a million times over.
