The hardest part in life, they say, Is when the one you love goes away. They gave me memories, pure and bright, But now they're gone, like a fading light. My parents and grandparents, strong and bold, Aging slowly, growing old. I saw the signs but chose to ignore, Until loss knocked on my heart's door. A loved one passed, I wasn't there, I thought I had time, but life isn't fair. Years slipped by, guilt took hold, A sorrow so deep, a story untold. Her absence left a scar so deep, It wakes me up from my sleep. But in that pain, a lesson came, To cherish family, break the blame. Now I visit, call, and care, For those who’ve always been there. Their smiles, their love, a priceless treasure, Moments together, a timeless pleasure. As we grow, we often forget, The love and care our parents beget. One day, they won't be here, That thought alone brings a tear. But I’m grateful for the time we share, Her love and support, beyond compare. So don't delay, make the call, Spend time with those who mean it all. In memory, love, and hope, I find, The strength to cherish, to be kind. For the ones who shaped my heart, Will forever be a cherished part.
