Someday, I\u2019ll write that book. Someday, I\u2019ll be doing work that actually matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bigger goals are great. But they can also trick you into thinking that what you\u2019re doing now is just a means to an end. That this part\u2014the unglamorous, in-between stage\u2014is just something to get through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work you\u2019re doing right now matters. Even if it feels small. Even if it\u2019s not where you ultimately want to be. Every skill, every habit, every challenge is shaping you. The effort isn\u2019t wasted. The time isn\u2019t wasted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you only push yourself because you\u2019re trying to get <em>somewhere else,<\/em> you\u2019ll always be chasing the next thing. But if you push yourself because the work itself matters, because <em>you<\/em> want to be the kind of person who does things well\u2014then you\u2019ll keep going.
