During my master’s in computer applications (MCA), I stumbled upon UX\/UI design. At first, I was totally out of my depth, struggling with design software and feeling like a fraud. My inner critic was loud and clear. But instead of letting it win, I turned those doubts into determination. I discovered Dribbble.com, and that changed everything. I spent hours learning, tweaking, and improving. Fast forward a bit, and I started getting job offers from top design firms. This whole journey taught me that showing up and pushing through the discomfort is what really counts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Embracing Failure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Failure isn\u2019t the end; it\u2019s part of the process. Each failure I\u2019ve faced has been a stepping stone to something better. It\u2019s all about letting failure shape you, not define you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I took a break from freelancing to develop a design assessment tool, I was sure it would be a hit. It wasn\u2019t. That failure stung, but it pushed me to dig deeper into the real challenges designers face. This pivot led me to a new role as a design recruiter, a path I never imagined. That setback turned out to be a blessing in disguise, opening new doors and opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Redefining Success<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
We often get caught up in chasing success, thinking it\u2019s all about hitting big milestones. But real success is about finding joy in the journey and savoring the little moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In my 20s, I was all about the hustle, working long hours to get ahead. Then the pandemic hit, and everything changed. I started exploring new hobbies like gardening, reading, and solo travel. These new interests brought a sense of balance and joy that I hadn\u2019t felt before. I realized that success isn\u2019t just about professional achievements but also about personal growth and happiness. Embracing lifelong learning has enriched both my work and my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Freedom of Being Authentic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
One of the best decisions I made was to stop pretending and just be myself. Being authentic attracts the right people and opportunities. When you\u2019re true to yourself, life becomes more fulfilling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I used to be a major people-pleaser, always trying to fit in. Therapy, books, and travel helped me understand the importance of setting boundaries and not worrying about others\u2019 opinions. This shift brought a huge sense of peace. Once I started being authentic, everything started falling into place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cultivating Gratitude<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In our busy lives, it\u2019s easy to overlook the good stuff. Practicing gratitude helps shift focus from what\u2019s lacking to what\u2019s abundant. Every day, I make it a point to appreciate the good things \u2013 supportive people, opportunities, and even the challenges that make me stronger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve kept a journal since college, but during the pandemic, I started a gratitude journal. Writing down three things I\u2019m thankful for each night changed my perspective. It helped me notice the small joys and stay positive, even when things were tough. Deep, meaningful connections with my close-knit circle have become invaluable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Final Thoughts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Life is unpredictable and wonderfully chaotic. It\u2019s a journey full of highs and lows, successes and failures, and endless lessons. Embrace it all. Work hard, be resilient, stay true to yourself, and keep learning. Most importantly, find joy in the journey.
